Export and import processes

You can save a process as a file and import it again, to reuse it on another card type or to copy it to another workspace. Workspace owners and maintainers do this in Processes › Process setup.

  1. Open the process in Process setup.
  2. Click Export in the editor’s header.
  3. Choose how to export:
    • Export with slots replaces the process’s internal references with placeholders, so it can be imported anywhere. Use this to share a process with another workspace.
    • Export without slots keeps the references as they are. Use this for a backup of the process in the same workspace.
  4. Your browser saves a file named after the process, for example Feature launch.json.
The Export menu of the process editor with Export with slots and Export without slots
  1. Open Process setup and find the card type the process should run on.
  2. Click the import button on the type’s row (Import process…).
  3. Choose the exported file.

The process is created on that type with new states and transitions, and its editor opens. Check the actions that refer to properties, tags or relations, since the new type may not have the same ones; actions with missing settings show a red warning sign. See Triggers and actions.
